AN AMERICAN LEGACY

In 1634, our American story began with our great-grandfather and grandmother, Thomas & Alice Goble. 142 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we came as indentured servants to what was then just five English colonies, home to only 4,000 Americans. We worked the land to gain our freedom and later served with General George Washington when he established his headquarters on our family farm near Jockey Hollow National Historical Park during the American Revolution. A Revolutionary grave is dedicated in their honor in Morristown, New Jersey.

Fast forward to 1837, the Duensing family migrated to the United States from the little village of Amt Wölpe, Germany. The family split at that time, leaving behind cousins in their homeland who would start the Duensing GmbH “bricklaying company” in Eilvese, founded in 1887. Since then, Duensing GmbH has expanded into structural engineering, civil engineering, and rail construction. On what would soon become the American side, Heinrich and Dorothy Duensing, with two young sons, boarded the Brig Bremen Packet, departing from Bremen, Germany, and arriving at the Port of New York on October 4, 1837—a journey that was unimaginably difficult, averaging 60 days at sea with the danger of storms and disease. After arriving in America, the young Duensing family traversed the nation by covered wagon, moving to Indiana and later settling in Illinois. Like the Gobles, the Duensings were also farmers, with their entries on the ship manifest and census holding the occupation title “Ackerbau” (Farmer in German). After generations of sacrifice and dedication to working the land, the Duensing family amassed a 2,600-acre farm, now home to the Illinois National Guard Armory in Joliet. Tragically, the family farm was lost to the bank during The Great Depression. This marked the end of the Duensing family farming legacy, which lasted for 5 generations, spanning over 100 years.

In 1948, the Duensing and Goble families joined hands with the marriage of Max Duensing, a veteran of the US Army during WWII, and Velma Goble, 5th-generation great-granddaughter of American Revolutionary War veteran and Deacon of the Morristown Baptist Church, Jonas Goble. While farming may have ended in this era of the family story, its shared sense of patriotism and hard work did not, with subsequent generations being respected business owners and blue-collar manufacturers and builders.

Continuing the family legacy, Skylar Duensing, an eighth-generation Illinoisan and fourteenth-generation American, has dedicated himself to advancing American values and interests, founding organizations that are helping him and his team build a generation of principled-patriot leaders. Skylar is best described as an American Entrepreneur and Political Strategist, and is recognized as a former Congressional Candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives (IL-6) during the 2026 Midterm Cycle. In addition to his candidacy and work with The United States Patriots Society, Skylar is a freelance journalist, published author, creator of The Abigail Adams & Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Awards, founder and lead Pastor of Guardians Of Divinity Ministries (G.O.D.), founder of The American Environmental Research Organization (AERO), and founder of Poli X Elite Strategies.

From the colonies in 1634, our American story began. Now, 14 generations and 392 years later, our legacy of freedom continues...
